San Francisco, March 5

Dear Linda,

This letter is to notify you that I have moved out of the apartment at 1426 9th Avenue, and therefore would like to have my name removed from the lease agreement as soon as possible.

I was confident there would be no problem for you to re-write the lease for my husband alone.

Since I moved out, nine days ago, I have, however, learned that my husband shot himself in the head last week, in the apartment, so there will be no need for a new lease.

You might have been informed of his misfortune already and handled the lease issue accordingly.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for your good work as ‘landlady’. You really keep the place in great shape, and it has been a genuine pleasure renting from you, as well as getting to know you.

I will mail you the keys under separate cover.

Best regards,
